The Flour Wars Campout starts tomorrow and the Worth Ranch forecast calls for rain all day Friday and into Saturday with temperatures ranging between 45 and 32. The winds will be from the north which will will make it feel as cold as the mid 20s at times during our stay. Sounds like perfect battle conditions to me! Seriously though, those joining us on this campout need to make sure to bring proper gear that is suited for cold and wet conditions. Refer to the Troop 17 gear list (see below) and the campout poop sheet (click the Campout Info link on the front page of the troop website) when packing for this trip. Things you will need to pay special attention to include but are not limited to: rain gear (jacket and pants-not a pancho), warm cloths to layer that are wool or synthetic material (no cotton), wool socks (several pairs), waterproof hiking boots (and a backup pair if you have them), waterproof tent with rain fly, ground cloth, good sleeping bag (no Batman or Buzz Lightyear bags for this trip), coveralls if you have them, fleece or wool stocking hat and some gloves to keep your hands warm. Scouts please get with your Patrol Leaders if you have any questions. Thank you. Mr. Harveson http://www.troop17.net/forms/T17%20Gear%20List.pdf
