Our Red River Road Trip is only three months away. We leave the Troop 17 Scout Lodge on Saturday, July 13th, early in the morning and return Sunday, July 21st. You and your parents, siblings or extended family, can sign up online at the Troop 17 website for this amazing event. This eight night Camping and High Adventure Road Trip can be somewhat challenging, but experienced by all ages, young and old.<br><br> We will set base camp in a beautiful meadow near the East Fork Trail Head. There is a visit to Philmont, rafting the Rio Grande River, bridge building, and a top of New Mexico hike. These will be followed by go-kart racing, barbecue, a show and fireworks, and a visit to an interesting art exhibit in the middle of a field.<br><br> This is an amazing and inexpensive 9 day trip. Everyone will get to experience the great outdoors like never before. Scouts will have an opportunity to work on advancement and possibly a Merit Badge or two. Now is the time to sign up and start preparing with long hikes around the neighborhood and take those stairs every chance you get.
