T17-Fall Camping-PLEASE READ AND TAKE ACTION posted 08/27/19

As I mentioned in the previous email, tonight I am sending home a schedule of Upcoming Events for Troop 17. This schedule outlines the dates and locations of our next 4 camping adventures. Please post this on your refrigerator (or other prominent position in your household) so that these dates do not get overlooked. The first 3 campouts require early action and commitment on our part to 1)reserve discounted park pricing, 2)secure adequate camping space, 3) arrange transportation or 4)all of the above. Keep in mind that camping is the centerpiece of the Boy Scout program and Scouts should plan to go on every campout possible. Troop 17 Scouts are members of a Patrol and the success of a Patrol on a campout weekend hinges on the entirety of the Patrol working, cooking, cleaning, playing and growing together as a unit. Also please understand that we need to have plenty of dads on these trips to help drive, supervise and oversee the safety and well being of all those attending. So dads please make plans to join us this fall on these adventures and take part in the fun. Schlitterbahn is the first trip September 13-15 and I will need to have a head count by next Tuesdays meeting (September 3rd) of those joining in on this great trip. Thank you. Mr. Harveson.
