We are just over 24 hours from departing from the HMSL and heading to Texas Motor Speedway for the Longhorn Council 100th Anniversary Camporee. Here are a few last minute notes and reminders as you are preparing tonight.
1)There are many activities and exhibits spread over a very large area. This will involve lots of walking in the elements. Please make sure you have comfortable shoes and socks, sunscreen and a water bottle or Nalgene to carry with you throughout the day.
2)All of the activities and exhibits are covered by the fee that you paid for the Camporee. There will also be a Trading Post and food trucks on site. The Trading Post will have souvenir items and supplies and the food trucks can provide extra treats and chow should you need them. These will require you to bring your own money to spend.
3)There is a food drive benefiting the Tarrant Food Bank being held at this event as well so please bring a non-perishable food item or two with you if possible.
4)Ground fires are not allowed at the Camporee, so you will not be able to count on a fire to keep you warm. Please make sure you have proper clothing. It will be cold on Saturday morning so be prepared. The forecast for the rest of the weekend looks niceminimal chance of rain.
That is all for now. I will email again if something else come up.
Thanks Mr. Harveson
