With the new calendar year, comes a new Scouting year too. Our annual dues this year are $80 for Scouts and $51 adults. There is a pretty good jump this year for the Scouts. This is to cover a new insurance fee. The dues we pay to the BSA cover insurance, camp operations, high adventure bases maintenance, and support for 280 local councils, including our own Longhorn Council. We would like all dues to be paid by December 31st if possible. We can take payment at any Scout meeting. Scouts can bring cash or check in an envelope with their name on it and put it in the drop box in the office. The Troop Committee does not want costs or fees to hinder any young man from participating in Troop 17. Scholarship money is available.
