T17-Troop Schedule and Status posted 03/13/20

After conferring with the Troop Committee, and at the recommendation of the Longhorn Council, we have decided to temporarily suspend our troop meetings and activities. As you are already aware, the Fort Worth ISD has extended their spring break through March 27th. Our charter organization has also made the decision to suspend all activities through March 26. The Longhorn Council has closed their facilities, including Worth Ranch through March 27. At this point, we are going to cancel our troop meetings on 3/17 and 3/24. Our campout scheduled for 3/20-3/22 is also cancelled. While we will not be meeting in person, there is no reason that you and your Scouts cannot continue to work on advancement and merit badges. We would like to encourage everyone to pick a merit badge to work on while you are at home. Look over the merit badge resource page listed below and pick something that interests you. Send an email to the scoutmaster address and we can help get you connected with a merit badge counselor. If you are interested in serving as a merit badge counselor, you send that note to the scoutmaster address also. Several of us will be monitoring the email address while Mr. Harveson is taking care of his family. Speaking of Mr. Harveson, we are happy to report that Mrs. Harveson is doing well at home after her evaluation stay in the hospital in Dallas. They greatly appreciate your continued support and prayers. See their Caring Bridge link for the latest updates. So take advantage of this time that we are apart and while you have some free time at home. We will keep in touch as things progress.
