Tuesday we have multiple events happening Service Opportunity 2:30 to 6:30 - Southcliff Baptist Church will be a food bank distribution point again this week. We could use the assistance of 3 to 4 families. This will be helping direct traffic through the neighborhood and parking lots of the facility. There is minimal face to face contact as people will be in their cars. This is open to anyone 15 or older but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. **Please RSVP today if you can help so the church can fill any slots we cant fill** - Mr. Turner Family Life Merit Badge - The long awaited (and Eagle Required) Family Life merit badge class will have its first meeting this Tuesday May 5th! We will meet in a Zoom conference at 7:00pm, before the regular troop meeting (conference information will be sent separately). You will need to be a First Class scout to attend. We meet at the Scout Lodge at 2pm and hike the surrounding area with our Philmont gear and packs. If you havent been working on this on your own and regularly, please join us again on this weekly hike. Besides this group practice, you should be in your hiking boots 2 to 3 additional times a week hiking 3+ miles each time with your pack. The comment almost every Philmont attendee has come with is that they werent physically prepared enough. Adultsthis is especially important for you Mr. Turner This week watch for an invitation to take two surveys about Philmont and Summer Camp. The national organization and Longhorn Council have asked up to fill out a survey on summer events and wed like to get your input before we answer Mr. Turner This month were toying with putting together a overnight campout later this month. We want to work on backpacking (our planned February event) and are discussing the logistics of doing this. We would have parents bring their Scouts to the event Saturday morning and then wed wrap up Sunday afternoon. The target date is May 23rd 24th. More to follow on this Mr. Bogle
