Scouts and Scouters, <br><br> Id like to highlight some fall events. On Monday, Green Bar will meet at 6:30 at the Scout lodge to eat fried chicken discuss plans for the fall including meetings, campouts and other program matters. The SPL runs the meeting. Participants include the staff and patrol leaders. Come hungry. <br><br> Philmont 2022. We are beginning preparations for a trip to Philmont in the summer of 2022. The dates are July 15th through July 27th. Philmont is a high adventure base in norther New Mexico and is considered one of the most rewarding scout experiences. Scouts must be 14 years old and have earned the rank of First Class prior to embarking. For anyone who may have an interest in this experience, please plan to meet on Sunday, September 26th at the Scout Lodge to learn more about it. <br><br> Our next Campout will be at Enchanted Rock State Park near Fredricksburg on October 8-10. FWISD students have the day off on Friday and Monday, so we plan to leave earlier on Friday and will return late on Sunday. This is a backpacking campout and we have reserved the primitive group camping area. Will also plan to tour the World War II museum in Fredrickburg on Sunday. <br><br> We have two events on Saturday, October 16th. The troop will host a large rummage sale at St Stephen as a fundraiser for the Trip to Switzerland in 2023. We will also volunteer to help staff a 5k race that very same morning. Please clear your calendars and plan to help out at one event or the other, or both! More details to come. <br><br> Its an exciting time to be a part of Troop 17. <br><br> Mr. Virden
