Here is the amazing news - We have now raised more than $7,000 for the Kandersteg trip in four months. If you were a part of the team that helped organize and/or participate in any of these fundraisers we thank you! Troop 17 is taking on one of the most exciting journeys in scouting and we are on track to get to Switzerland in 2023.
Here is an amazing opportunity - We can make good money for our troop working TCU games at the stadium and the even better news is another troop has already set up the system and knows how to run it. They are fundraising around $2500 a game and the more people we can bring to help them the higher portion of that we can bring home. If we can get 5-6 parents to participate that is around $1250 for a days work! So far two of us have answered the call but we need more - we need 5-6 more adults to step up and get TABC certified. It is a two-hour online course, and they are offering it for free if you sign up through this link https://certification.txrestaurant.org/ or use the education course of your choice online and you will get reimbursed the $20. They need people for the game this Saturday and for the Armed Forces Bowl on Dec 12. If you have any questions, please reach out to me, Ben Isgur at bisgur@hotmail.com or 817-821-5158. PS: Your scout can join you to help work the booth.
Here is the next time we will meet - we will get together for an in-person meeting after the new year to take stock of 2021 and begin our program for 2022 fundraising and planning. We will look for a Tuesday in January - stay tuned. We will also be working on a family survey to start the sign-up process for Kandersteg and to prioritize scout activities - so it will require you and your scout to participate in the survey. I will try to get that out in early December.
