Several reminders in addition to those posted to the Merit Badge blogs. On Tuesday April 19th at 6:45, we will have another Space Exploration MB class. Bring pen/pencil and paper and be ready to take notes. We will discuss all the questions for this merit badge. I will have work packets for scouts that missed the first class. If you have questions about your rocket, we can discuss them at that time. May 7th is the Worth Ranch workday. Breakfast starts at 7:30 (for those camping overnight Friday, please contact Mr. Goldthwaite for instructions). This is the LAST workday before summer camp. No skills or tools are required! Philmont Trek leaders, please work with your crews to plan on attending this session. Troop 17 will be working in the Davis campsite and other projects. May 10th, during our normal Troop meeting we will be distributing flyers for our annual Flag Holiday promotion. Nothing special to do except show up to the Scout meeting on time and in uniform. March 29th-April 1st is the next campout. It is our rocketry campout at Worth Ranch. More on that below. Permission slip and poop sheet are available online. May 20th-22nd is the canoe campout. We need several adults to come out Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon to shuttle cars and canoes to and from the river. Please see Mr. Turner or Mr. Goldthwaite if you can assist. SUMMER CAMP The Big Adventure! Mrs. Richardson is collecting deposits for summer camp at Worth Ranch. The dates are June 19th 25th. Checks are payable to Troop 17. Please signup online and make your deposit today! If you need assistance with the fees for summer camp, there is a Worth Ranch Campership program that can assist. Regretfully, funds are limited but we want to ensure that every boy has a chance to have his own Big Adventure. Please contact Mr. Turner by 4/26 for assistance. WILDFIRE UPDATE Due to several fires still burning out of control in Parker and Palo Pinto County, Worth Ranch was closed this weekend and all events were cancelled. Today, the winds are blowing the fires away from Worth, but this is Texas and we all know how the weather can change. We are going to watch the conditions closely and are working on a contingency plan in case Worth is not available on the 29th. Please pray for rain! Mr. Turner
