Just a quick note about a couple of items on the schedule coming up... Tonight, Troop Meeting - normal time and place. *** You will have the opportunity to start signing up for merit badge classes for Worth Ranch Summer Camp! Mr. Lyles will be assisting in this process. If you havent paid your deposit, you are overdue! Saturday, 8a-4p - Worth Ranch Work Day - This is the last workday to prepare for The Big Adventure. Troop 17 will be completing our upgrades and enhancements to the Davis campsite. There are plenty of things to do, no skills required. See Mr. Goldthwaite for more information or check out the website http://www.worthranch.com/wrcomm.html. This weekend, OA Ordeal at Sid Richardson. If you were tapped out, there are only 2 more ordeal weekends after this one. Tuesday, May 10th, we will distribute flyers for our summer US Flag fundraiser. Please just be in your normal full Class A uniform and be on time to the Scout meeting. Thursday, May 12th, Philmont crews should meet at the Scout Lodge for a gear check at 7:00 pm. ***NEW ITEM*** Friday, May 13th CPR Training, Saturday and Sunday, May 14th and 15th - BSA Wilderness First Aid Basics course (WFAB). CPR certification required for the WFA course. WFAB cost $135 and will be from 8-6 on both days. Location TBD. Email aggiescouter@charter.net to register. Philmont crews need at least 2 adults trained in WFA. For others, this is an outstanding course and I highly recommend you attend. May 20th-22nd, Canoeing the Brazos! Keep an eye out for the poop sheet and permission slip for this annual event. We had a spectacular day last Saturday working at Worth Ranch. 43 boys worked on two service projects and a lot of advancement. One project was painting in Staff Hill and the other was cutting a new road up Kyle Mountain. Hopefully, they will name it Camp Road 17, or something similar :). Sunday was much cooler and definitely wetter! This was a good lesson for some of the Scouts - always pack rain gear! Mr. Turner
