T17 - The Big Adventure Update posted 06/22/11

I held off sending an update so I could get you the dinner and campfire times for Thursday night. For parents night on Thursday, ideally you would be at Worth Ranch by 6:00 pm to either eat in the dining hall or to eat at camp with food you bring from the real world. Flag lowering will be at 7:15 pm with the campfire following it. If you have been here before, you will remember that the Captain Kidd council ring has rocks that have been baking in the 100+ degree weather for days as the seating area. A thick towel or light stadium bleacher pad might save a few layers of skin. We have also had a couple of nights of potentially dangerous storms near the camp. The camp has several emergency plans and we even had a practice fire drill on Monday. At our campsite, we have a structure that we used as a shelter as the storms passed to the north of us. We had a great party Monday night and just got a bit of wind and rain. Last night was the same story. Overall everyone is doing well and we hope to see many of you tomorrow night! Mr. Turner
