Welcome to September! If you got out early this morning, like to help with the Flag Fundraiser, the temperature was actually below 70 degrees! Hopefully this weather will continue and the fire danger will be lower. We are keeping my fingers crossed that we might be able to have a campfire by December. ***Schedule Updates*** There are a lot of items posted to the calendar on the website (www.troop17.net). Some important upcoming ones are listed below. Today, September 5th, Flag take down - meet on Sweetbriar Lane at 7:00 pm in your Class B uniform. Tuesday, 9/6/2011 Greenbar Meeting - meet at the Scout Lodge at 6:45 pm if you are a SPL, ASPL, QM, PL, APL, or GM. Tuesday, 9/6/2011 Scout Meeting - 7:30 in your full class A uniform. BRING CARDBOARD. Your PL should be organizing a cardboard drive for the activities this weekend. BRING YOUR PERMISSION SLIP AND CASH ($30). Need a permission slip? Download one from the web under Campout Info. Copies are also at the Lodge. Poop sheet and map are also included. If you will be arriving late or leaving early, please remember that Mr. Turner needs to approve that IN ADVANCE. OF Patrol (adults) please sign up on Tuesday in the Lodge or online now. Wednesday, 9/7/2011 Troop Committee Meeting - 7:30 at the Scout Lodge. All parents and interested parties are invited to attend the business operations meeting of the Troop. Friday, 9/9/2011 - Sunday 9/11/2011 Campout - Advancement, Aquatics, and Cardboard Canoe Race campout at Camp Constantin. Meet at 5:30 at the Scout Lodge. Information is available on the Troop website. Sunday, 9/11/2011 Flag Fundraiser - Meet on Sweetbriar lane at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM to put up flags in the Tanglewood area. This is an extra flag date for the anniversary of 9/11. Saturday, 9/17/2011 TCU Fundraiser - TCU vs. Louisiana-Monroe 9am 5pm. More info below. Saturday, 9/24/2011 TCU Fundraiser - TCU vs. Portland State 9am 5pm. Saturday, 10/1/2011 TCU Fundraiser - TCU vs. SMU 10am 6pm. Friday, 10/7/2011 - Sunday 10/9/2011 Campout Saturday 10/8/2011 TX/OU Fundraiser - This is our single largest one day fundraising event. 7:00am-6pm at The State Fair of Texas in Dallas. If you are not camping, please keep this day for the fundraiser! Friday 10/21/2011 - Sunday 10/23/2011 OA Ordeal at Sid Richardson. This is the last OA ordeal of the year. If you have been tapped out but not attended an ordeal weekend, this is your time to go! More information available on the Longhorn Council website. Saturday 10/22/2011 TCU Fundraiser - TCU vs. New Mexico 9am 5pm Friday 11/11/11 - Sunday 11/13/11 Troop Campout Saturday 11/19/2011 TCU Fundraiser - TCU vs. Colorado State 10am 6pm Saturday 12/3/2011 TCU Fundraiser - TCU vs. UNLV 9am 5pm Friday 12/9/2011 - Sunday 12/11/11 Troop Campout Make plans now to attend the FLOUR WAR campout. Bring your neighborhood Webelos with you! FUNDRAISING As you can see above, we will be fundraising at TCU games again this year. We were asked back by TCU to run the same stand as last year. We need a few parents to split up the responsibilities of managing the stand (instead of Mr. Taylor running all the games like last year).
