We have a great opportunity for parents to assist the Troop and to build their own skills. The Longhorn Council is holding NRA Rifle, Shotgun, and Range Safety Officer (RSO) training next month. The Troop has to have a certified RSO to hold our own shooting sports events. Currently, a parent of former Troop 17 scouts and a former Troop 17 Scout are our only resources for this. In addition to helping the Troop, the course will get you certified for the following... NRA Rifle Instructor Course NRA Shotgun Instructor Course NRA Range Safety Officer Course Texas Hunter Education Student Course The council is putting this course on at Worth Ranch on March 3 & 4 and March 17 & 18. There is a limit of 20 participants. The cost is $200 (see your tax advisor for deductibility).
