Thanks to everyone that attended the Court of Honor. We had a great evening celebrating the accomplishments of both Scouts and adults. We had the pleasure of recognizing the Honorable Judge Everett Young for his 23 years of service to the Troop as the Committee Chair. Many of you may not realize it, but there is an outstanding group of adults that meet every month to help run the business end of the Troop. These include parents of former and current Scouts, representatives from the Church and friends of the Troop. In his role as committee chair, Judge Young not only presided over these meetings, but he also had the honor (and responsibility) of making the final approval for all Eagle Scout candidates. We read off quite a long list of Eagles that Judge Young has approved since 1989. We cannot express enough our gratitude to Judge Young for his service. We also had the pleasure of recognizing our new Committee Chair, Mr. Edmonds. Both men were presented with gavels created from the same piece of cedar that was cut from Worth Ranch. One other adult that we recognized was Mr. Al Witt. He recently "retired" as the Scoutmaster of Troop 52. He has now joined our merry band of OF and even camped with us this past month. We are also extremely appreciative of Mr. Witts donation of his bus to the Troop. We have borrowed the bus several times in the past year and took it on our campout to Sid Richardson. When you see Mr. Witt at the Troop meetings, please be sure to thank him. Ok...so enough about the adults! We recognized all the recent accomplishments of the Scouts and named our Honor Scout and Patrol. Our Spring 2012 Honor Scout is Christopher Peterson, with honorable mention to Alex Towle and James Boswell. The Honor Patrol is the Eagle Patrol. Thank you again to all the adults that made the evening a success and to the parents that came to support their Scouts. Mr. Turner
