From David Taylor regarding Cotton Bowl: One last reminder email to work the concession booth at the Cotton Bowl for the soccer game on Wednesday, Sept. 30. We have five and need five more. Here are the particulars: Date: Wednesday, Sept. 30 Report Time: 3:00 p.m. Gates Open: 5:00 p.m. 1st game: 6:00 p.m. 2nd game: 8:00 p.m. Dress Code: Solid white shirt (no logos), long black pants, comfortable shoes, must wear hat or hairnet (Concessionaire will provide hats/aprons) TABC If we serve beer, everyone must bring their TABC cert. with them. Parking $10.00 Entrance Gate M (Old Gate 1) With only ten, we can carpool instead of taking the bus. At last count, we have 18-20 for the Texas/OU game. Service Hour Opportunity: With the Eagle project having thinned out, we have set up an opportunity for scouts to earn service hours for rank advancement working a water station at the Infant Mortality Walk/Run this Saturday, September 19, 2009. Meet at the Trinity Park Pavilion across from MontgomeryPlaza at 6:00 AM for your work assignment. Last Chance Ordeal and OA Lodge Calendar: A Last Chance Ordeal will be held October 9 - 11 at CampTahauya. If you have scouts that have not had an opportunity to attend an Ordeal please make them aware of this opportunity. Ordeal registration forms can be found at: http://www.longhorncouncil.org/oa/forms/2009OrdealForm.pdf. Registration can be made at the door. This is also a great opportunity for those eligible Ordeal members (> 10 months as Ordeal member) to earn their Brotherhood! Note that the next chapter meeting will be 5 October at ArborlawnUMCYouthCenter, 7:00 PM. Please encourage your OA Troop Representatives to attend. Troop 17s New Bus: Yes the rumor is true! The Harry Male Youth Foundation has purchased a new bus for Troop 17s use. It is a 2004 International chassis with a Blue Bird body; the best in the business. Thank you to the family of a former scout of Troop 17 for loaning us the money to make this outstanding purchase. Of course we are still seeking donations to help pay down the loan, paint the bus, and buy new tires. With luck well have the new bus for our October campout.
