Tuesday is the Troops Court of Honor. Please remember to be in your full Class A uniform - with your Merit Badge sash if you have one. We begin at 7:30. Parents and family are strongly encouraged to attend. We will be up the hill in the Fellowship Hall. From Mr. Edmonds - PMMS Scouts, this Tuesday, October 16th, will be second and last meeting in October. I need to review ALL budgets. Please bring a COPY of your budget to our 6:30 meeting, I will take them home with me to review. You should all be working on the requirements we have discussed so far. They are time management, your budget, to do list & calendar, discussing with your family a major purchase. If you have not started on these requirements you are behind and need to go back to the section on time management. I look forward to seeing all of you on Tuesday. Mr. E Saturday could be our biggest TCU home game of the season so far! The Texas Tech Red Raiders (BCS #17) come to Amon Carter stadium off a huge win against West Virginia (BCS #13) the past weekend. TCU (BCS #23) pummeled Baylor 49-21 Saturday and put TCU, Tech, and West Virginia in a 3 way tie for 2nd place in the Big 12. The game is a sell out with only 400 tickets left even on StubHub. TCU opened up Standing Room Only tickets this morning and the forecast calls for sunny skies in the 80s, so the stadium will definitely be PACKED. ABC is also televising the game. Game time is 2:30 and setup time is 10:30. As of this morning, we only have 6 people signed up to volunteer. We need AT LEAST 15 more Scouts and parents to volunteer for our stand. So far this year, we have already made $3500. Half of this money goes directly to pay for long term camping including WR, Philmont, and the 2014 High Adventure Trip for those that participate. Please remember, we want EVERY Scout to participate in fund raising. This is part of our program and an excellent way for our young men to learn about dealing with the public, customer service, handling money, teamwork, responsibility, and so on. Please sign up online, or in person, or by contacting Mr. Taylor directly. This past weekend we had a great time at SR2! We left a bit late Friday night but we had a relatively short drive and a quick camp setup. In the morning, we headed across camp to try out the new mountain bike trail. Everyone had a great time with only a few bumps and bruises along the way. The afternoon was spent with the OF serving food in the dining hall to 200 or so Cub Scouts and their families while the patrols had their lunch. The threat of storms in the afternoon had everyone preparing for the worst so some of the sports programs were replaced with rest and relaxation by the Scouts once the camp was ready for rain. We had a good dinner and headed over to the help with the Councils Haunted Hayride. The Scouts had a great time under the stormy skies (which we had special ordered for the evening), scaring the Cubs as they rode through the various scenes along the trails. We missed staying dry by about 20 minutes. As we were getting all the Scouts out of the fields, the rain opened up. We drove back over to our campsite and had everyone call it a night just as the rains ended. In the morning, we packed up quickly and had enough time to make a "refueling" stop on the way home. A big thanks to Mr. Rekieta, Mr. Key, Mr. Payne, Dr. Mathe, and Dr. Lee for spending the weekend with the Scouts. See you tomorrow, Mr. Turner
