As this message is being typed, the last shift of the Texas Rangers fundraiser should be wrapping up. Thank you to all of the managers, TABC servers, cashiers, and prep help that volunteered for this effort. I believe we exceeded our expectation for this fundraising opportunity. This should help every scout and adult who wishes to to KISC. Of course the fudraising continues... We have registered for Online Popcorn Sales. This should be a fairly straightforward fundraiser. Just let everyone know you are selling, theyll go online and place their order, and the product ships directly to them. How easy is that?! Log onto scouts.trails-end.com to log on and create an account. Prizes of gift cards are available for sales greater than $250 and may count toward "Fill it Up College Scholarship Fund" September 30 we will be working a soccer doubleheader at the Cotton Bowl. David Taylor is coordinating this event. The Texas Rangers have offered a concession opportunity on October 2 at the Ballpark selling beer for a pep rally associated with the Texas A&M vs. Arkansas game. Please contact Earl Johnson at to volunteer. We need 8 people, TABC. On October 3, TCU has asked us to man a concession stand at Amon Carter Stadium. Call Bryan Bogle to volunteer. We need 12 people aged 15 and older. THIS MEANS THAT SCOUTS CAN WORK. Scouts: Come on out and give your parents a break! October 17 we have a large concession stand at the Cotton Bowl for Texas vs. OU. We need 25 volunteers generally aged 14 and older. THIS MEANS THAT SCOUTS CAN WORK. Scouts: Come on out and give your parents a break! Contact David Taylor to volunteer. The bulbs are coming! Weve ordered two boxes of bulbs per scout. These things basically sell themselves. You can earn more money for KISC by offering to plant the bulbs too! In other news... Dont forget about the last chance Ordeal at Camp Tahuaya Octber 9-11, 2009. If your were called out for OA this year and have not completed your Ordeal, this is your last chance without having to be elected again in February 2010. At the Court of Honor last week, Mr. Duke made a presentation regarding the Kandersteg trip. It will be posted to the troop website soon. Dont forget that your $250 non-refundable deposit for the Kandersteg trip is due by October 1. Guess thats enough for one evening... YIS, James Duke Scoutmaster Troop 17
