Just a quick update from Oklahoma, via 10,000 feet over the Gulf of Mexico... When it rains, it pours. After it rains, lakes fill up. When lakes fill up, the US Army Corps of Engineers open up the dam to let water out. When the dam is open, the river fills up and flows really fast. When the rivers flow really fast, people shouldnt canoe... After many discussions with the outfitter Friday night and Saturday morning, they felt it would not be safe for the Troop to canoe the river. We drove over to the river below the dam and agreed. Although many of the Scouts wanted to try, rational adults agreed with the outfitter. Ill post pictures on Instagram when I get back on the ground. Instead they canoed in the state park and from all reports had a great time. Mr. Turner
