Hopefully everyone has caught up on their sleep and is somewhat coherent again... I want to start out by saying how proud I was that the Troop earned the Top Troop award for the first week of the Big Adventure! We also had several Scouts earn individual awards from the Merit Badge staff! I will send a recap of the awards and special thanks later today in a separate email (it will be via email only and not posted on the website so I can include Scout names). This past week we also had 6 Scouts attend summer camp for the first time. I am extremely proud of that group. We had some get homesick, of course, but they did a great job of working through it and I think they will all be able to look back at the experience with fond memories. Thank you to all the parents of these Scouts that supported their boys throughout the week. Thank you also to the parents, grandparents, and friends, that sent letters and care packages - the Scouts really enjoyed them! Tuesday, we are back to our normal meeting time at 7:30pm at the Scout Lodge. ADULTS - we have several boys that need Boards of Review so if you can stay during the meeting to help with the Boards (no experience necessary), your help will be appreciated. Reminder - Today at 2:00pm, we all (everyone going to Philmont) will meat at the Scout Lodge. This is the MANDATORY FINAL GEAR CHECK! Please park at the Scout Lodge parking lot as to not interfere with the funeral at the church. We will check all personal gear that should be in your backpack and then repack it and not touch it again. We will check and distribute Crew Gear. Then we will make sure your complete Class A and B uniforms including extra socks and underwear are in your Travel Bag along with toiletries, towel and personal meds. Parents, stick around. We will need all forms for Philmont signed and need your new Med Form if we do not have it yet. I will pass out a letter giving full detail and info for the trip.
