I hope everyone has enjoyed their first week(s) of school. We had a great turnout Tuesday night with 4 visitors. Two of them signed their "letters of intent" and will be joining the Troop officially next week! Speaking of "letters of intent", college football is upon us again. It is going to be a great season at TCU with plenty of opportunities for us to raise money at a number of sold out games right here in our own neighborhood. The game signups are on the Troop website. PARENTS, please consider helping us with the games. This is our PRIMARY FUNDRAISER for the ENTIRE YEAR. For September 7ths game we already have 4 parents and should be good. WE NEED MORE SCOUTS FOR 9/7! We have less than half the number of people we need for this game. For the rest of the games, we have only a one person signed up. SCOUTS, attending fundraisers is part of your participation requirement to continue to advance in rank. No need to wait until the last minute - your Troop Committee has enough grey hair already...SIGN UP TODAY. Monday is also one of our Summer Flag holidays. We will meet on Sweetbriar Lane at 7am and 7pm to put up and take down flags in the Tanglewood neighborhood. Please come in your Class B (grey Troop shirt, Scout shorts, and socks) uniform. From Mr. Edmonds - YES ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR! Vacations are just memories, School is in session, and you are pondering the future....to be exact, YOUR future! If you are at least 14 and at least a 1st Class Scout you are eligible for my annual PMMB class. I plan on being at the HMSL at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, 3 September to introduce the material and syllabus. Other upcoming events... September 4th, 7:30 pm - Troop Committee meeting. This meeting is open to all. This is the monthly "business meeting" of the Troop. September 13-15, Schlitterbahn! We head down to New Braunfels, Texas, to spend the day at the #1 rated water park in the country. We will be staying at the Shelton Rock Ranch just outside of town. The poop sheet will be posted today. Cost for this trip is higher than our normal monthly campouts so dont be concerned that the rest of the campouts will run this high (admission to the park is $38 per person for this campout). We would like to order tickets in advance to take advantage of their pre-pay discount. PLEASE LET YOU PATROL LEADER KNOW TUESDAY IF YOU ARE GOING ON THIS CAMPOUT. September 20-22, Sid Richardson Scout Ranch (SR2) - This is the final OA ordeal opportunity for anyone that was tapped out this year. If you do not complete your ordeal, you will have to be elected again next year to be eligible to join the OA.
