Just a few reminders about things going on this weekend. TOMORROW, Sunday, May 25, everyone is invited to the Eagle Court of Honor for Noah Mathe and Adam Turner. It is at 2:00 pm at St. Stephen Church (up the hill). Scouts should come in their full class A uniform. Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day) is the first of our summer flag events. We will be putting out the American flags in the Tanglewood neighborhood at 7:00 am and taking them down at 7:00 pm. Please meet in your class B uniform (scout shorts and grey T17 shirt) on Sweetbriar Lane and we will move out in groups throughout the neighborhood. Monday is also the last day of the annual REI anniversary sale. This is a great opportunity to get gear for summer camp, Red River, or just for everyday camping. Members receive 20% off a single item and many other items are 30% off. While I do not normally promote businesses via the Troop website, this is a good opportunity to get a high dollar item at a significant discount. Visit them online at www.rei.com or in Dallas on 635 near the Tollway. Locally, Backwoods is a great resource with knowledgeable staff. For gear on the Philmont gear list, they offer 15% off regular price. Be sure to check with the staff on what items are included. They are located online at www.backwoods.com and at 2727 W. 7th Street in Fort Worth. They will be open Monday until 6pm (normally 8pm). Ask about their frequent shopper program. See you tomorrow!
