Eleven months until Troop 17 Boundary Water Canoe Trip. Please be sure to get your initial deposit of $100 to the troop, it is due now. We have 3 full crews of 8, for a total of 24 members. There are 5 on the wait list. If you have discovered that you are unable to fill your spot please let us know as soon as possible, to allow for one of the Scouts on the wait list to fill in. If you cannot make the trip and you have already made you deposit the fill member will reimburse you. Again a reminder your $100 deposit is past due and the 2nd payment of $215 will be due September 1 (next month). I will be working on the best date to secure the group airline tickets. I want to have a couple of canoe paddling (practice) sessions this fall at the nature center on Lake Worth. Very few of our members have canoed in water that actually floats the canoe in a depth that does not drag the bottom. Just a note, we had originally figured the trip with 7 per crew and we were able to fill the crews with 8. This lowered the trip fee to 530 from 605.
