Dont forget, this Tuesday, February 9, Mr. Duke will be making a special presentation and all scouts and their families are invited. This presentation represents the culmination of over 10 months of training and fundraising to benefit Big City Mountaineers through their Summit for Someone climb series. Join us for exciting photos and video as we follow a team of four mountaineers on their journey to the seventh and third highest peaks in North America: Iztaccihuatl and El Pico de Orizaba. Theyre predicting rain early next week so we may be in the Eastminister Room in the church if we are not at the lodge. February 16 we will be holding elections for Order of the Arrow. All scouts should attend this meeting, especially those scouts First Class and above who are not yet members. Our next campout is a backpacking campout on the Cross Timbers Hiking Trail. The Staff has been focusing on gear selection and packing for this trip during the meetings. It is very important that each scout have a backpack with a frame (either internal or external), well fitting boots that are broken in, and rain gear. If you have any questions about gear, feel free to contact Mr. Duke, Mr. Bogle, or Mr. Rekieta. After the presentation on February 9 would be a great time to ask questions. From Mr. Gonzalez to the Family Life MB Scouts: Family Life Merit Badge: We have completed the 2nd week of Family Life Merit Badge and should have the following done to stay on schedule: 1.Family Life Outline (requirement 1) is due on Tuesday Feb. 9,2010,, to be completed the writeup and an informal discussion with Parent(s) needs to have been completed by Tuesday 2."Why I am Important to my Family" (requirement 2) is due Tuesday Feb. 9,2010, outline and an informal discussion with Parent(s). 3."Family Meeting Plan" (requirement 6) each participant needs to have read the handout and ready for agenda and discussion with Parent(s) 4."Chores List and 90 day Checklist" (requirement 3) is due on Tuesday Feb. 9,2010, with parents initials,needs Parent(s) discussion and approval to begin 5.We will begin discussions on "Your Project" and "The Family Project" on Tuesday Feb. 9,2010 I need an accurate headcount of participants in the 2010 "Family Life Merit Badge" class, Ill get this head count Tuesday Feb. 9, 2010. We will look at these the above items to complete or implement and discuss the personal project (requirement 4) and the family project (requirement 5).
