Looks like it is going to be a busy evening... From Mrs. Smith... For Scouts interested in Personal Fitness Merit Badge: We will be meeting Tues., Oct 28th at 6:45pm for the initial assessment (Running 1 mile, pushups, pullups, situps, flexibility test) and an explanation of the merit badge. Wear comfortable clothing for exercise and plan your dinner wisely (fast food and running often do not mix well.) This is an eagle required merit badge that requires a commitment to developing a weekly fitness routine that you are able to carry out over a 12 week period. Remember that the fitness plan needs to be approved by your counselor (aka me - Mrs Smith) and your parents PRIOR to starting your 12 weeks of training. Once you begin your training, you will record your daily activities for your log each day that you exercise. The goal is for you to better understand the components of a fitness plan, learn the discipline and endurance needed, and hopefully experience the satisfaction of an improved personal fitness level. Fitness Plans are due to Mrs. Smith by Nov 11th. Once your plan has been turned in and approved, you may begin your workouts. You may return them to me or my husband at the scout meetings, or better yet, email them to smith_1@mac.com. We will have a couple of meetings to discuss fitness, nutrition and the written requirements for this merit badge. If you are unable to completed your initial fitness tests and run on Oct. 28th and are interested in completing this MB, contact me immediately! Lastly, if you have started this merit badge previously and have not completed it, I am assuming you may want a fresh start to begin again; please attend. Thanks, Mrs Smith 817-996-7797 cell From Mr. Edmonds... PMMB Scouts, I hope some of you are using the time management skills weve discussed in earlier classes to your benefit. If not, well this weekend is a VERY good opportunity to pick up the PMMB pamphlet, open it and "push refresh"! We will meet at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, 28 October. Bring a COPY of your budget, I will take it home with me to review. This meeting will be a short review of previous material, so please study your notes and the sections on time management, planning a budget and being a smart shopper. In November plan on meetings the first three Tuesdays of the month. Mr. E 817-805-3248 From Mr. Goldthwaite... Calling All WR Fans!
