T17 - Philmont 2016 - Action Required posted 12/16/14

As announced at last Tuesdays Scout meeting, now is the time to sign up for Philmont 2016. We will be in the back country from 7/15/2016 to 7/27/2016 so figure a day or two on either side for travel. The cost estimate is $925. We have 24 slots available for 6 adults and 18 Scouts. Scouts must be First Class before we leave and must be 14 years old on January 1, 2016. Parents and Scouts should read the advisory at http://www.troop17.net/docs_public/philmont_risk_advisory.asp for important information about other requirements and risks associated with a high adventure trip of this nature. No money is due now but we would expect that anyone registering is committing to attending the event. The Troop is going to put a deposit down with Philmont for 24 people shortly so please discuss it with your family and register online at http://www.troop17.net/management/register.asp?e=545 There is not a firm deadline to register at this point but the Troops Philmont Committee does take the order people register into consideration when building the crews.
