THANK YOU to all the parents and family that came out Thursday night to visit you son at The Big Adventure. We had a great turnout! Thank you also to all the families that sent your Scout to camp. I know you couldnt bear to have them gone for a week and not hanging around the house sleeping until noon every day. Friday, at the closing campfire, the Troop and Scouts received a number of awards... Troop 17 Awards Honor Troop (top award for the week) Top Campsite Inspection score (for the upper campsites) Dining hall award (several were handed out) Wrangler Award Individual Awards (in no particular order) George T. - Outstanding Skier Ryan F. - Orienteering Award Ben J. - Nature and Ecology Award Josh A. - Mammal Study Award Mason F. - Climbing Award Michael W. - Mile Swim Max G. - Mile Swim Several adults also completed leader training while at camp Mr. Turner - In Person YPT, Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat Mr. Lyles - Leave No Trace Mr. Goldthwaite - In Person YPT I would also like to extend my personal thanks to the adults that spent a significant portion of their week (and their work vacations) at WR supporting Scouting and your boys... Mr. Key Mr. Lyles Mr. Edmonds Mr. Goldthwaite Mr. Peterson Without these fine OF and all those that helped us get everything together before last week, we could not have pulled this off. As we celebrate our 90th+ anniversary coming to what we now know as WR, it makes me very happy to see yet another generation of Scouts embracing the sacred ground and river. Thanks for your support!
