Congratulations to Mr. Bogle who was awarded the Silver Beaver award by the Longhorn Council last week for his outstanding service to youth within the Council and outstanding longtime service to youth residing within the council. Mr. Bogles dedication to scouting, his volunteering at Cook Childrens Hospital and his involvement with Camp Sanguinity are an example to all adults and youth. Our Rangers concession stand is scheduled to be open on May 8 during the day for a Boy Scout event as well as the game that evening. We have been requested to work both events. It would be best if we could have two separate teams (day and night) for Saturday. Please contact Earl Johnson go to www.troop17.net to sign up to help. Dr. Mathe has arranged for the Trauma Prevention Coordinator from Harris Fort Worth to give a presentation at the meeting tomorrow, May 4th. This was for the First Aid merit badge but the whole troop is welcome to attend. She gives a good and entertaining talk. Dr. Mathe would like to do our next First Aid merit badge meeting on a Sunday May 9 (so as not to conflict with the Rangers fundraiser) to go over CPR and AED and some make up of missed classes if needed. Please reply to Mathe the best time for those working on First Aid. If you are an adult going to Kandersteg, please register as an adult leader and complete youth protection training as soon as possible.
